Reports To: Medical Business Office Manager
Status: Full-Time; Non-Exempt / Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Medical Scheduling Coordinator will focus on scheduling providers in both Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living Facilities. Additionally, the scheduler works with the providers, medical assistants, and facility representatives to provide efficient, effective customer service to our facilities, patients, and family members. 

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating and maintenance of multiple provider schedules.
  • Works with peers and clinical teams to ensure patients are seen timely.
  • Communicates daily with facility representatives and clinical teams to ensure accuracy of patient data, streamlining the scheduling process.
  • Ensures all required documentation is received prior to scheduling (MNO/Consent and facesheet)
  • Effectively communicates with Insurance Verification and Billing Team to ensure all their part in the company workflow is satisfied.
  • Provides general customer service to our physicians, facilities, and their resident/family members

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, Education, and Skill Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or comparable work experience in a health related field.
  • Medical office experience preferred
  • Previous scheduling experience in a medical setting required
  • Intermediate or greater computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • The ability to multi-task, operate against daily deadlines, and function at high rates of productivity without micromanagement
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills


COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • EMR experience, NextGen/Meditouch experience preferred.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in an office and onsite facility care environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing, data entry and vision to monitor. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
